India lost Major Anuj Sood in Jammu & Kashmir

On 2 May 2020, India lost four Indian Army officers and a sub-inspector of J&K police in a counter-terrorist operation. It is one of the deadliest attacks for the Indian Security Forces in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Indian Army got an intelligence report that terrorists are hiding inside a house in Handwara ‘s Changimulla area and they have taken civilians as hostages. So a joint team is formed of 5 Army personnel and 1 sub-inspector of J & K police for the rescue of the civilians. The security force was able to rescue the civilians but they face a massive firing from the terrorist which took the life of a Colonel, Major Anuj Sood, two soldiers, and sub-inspector of J & K police.
During the 12 hours counter-terrorist operation Major Anuj Sood showed an act of bravery by killing two terrorists and saving the lives of the civilians. Major Anuj Sood is the second – generation officer and the son of Brig. Chandrakant Sood (Retd) of the Indian Army. He was an ex – NDA student and also an NDA torch holder for all the six terms. He was the topper in the National Defence Academy. He has done JC two years ago. He is the son in law of the Kashmir Singh who is a Marine Commander.
Many of you don’t know that Major Anuj Sood took part in the counter-terrorist attacks before also and he was very close to Col. Ashutosh Sharma who also lost his life in this attack. Finally, they left the Indian Army with the act of bravery and rest in peace forever.
